Gallery is a mixed density residential precinct located in Willagee, 20 minutes from Perth CBD on a historic former primary school site that has been loved by generations.
The joint venture project was delivered by Satterley Property Group in collaboration with the City of Melville. Engaged by Satterley in 2018, PLAN E critically reviewed the existing planning documents to inform strategic planning for Gallery.
PLAN E designed and delivered the public realm including five parks – four act as ‘green spines’ dissecting the site and connecting residents to transport links, Carrawatha Park and adjacent food and beverage tenancies and aged care. We were also responsible for the integration of public art throughout the public realm landscape, working closely with artist Chris Nixon.
Collaborating with architects MJA Studio, PLAN E also developed a landscape design package to support a development approval for 16 terrace homes to be delivered by Satterley.
Our work with MJA extended to the four apartment sites located along North Lake Road and Archibald Streets. Construction of the first apartment site is due to commence in 2023.
This holistic and collaborative approach to the planning and design of both the public and private realms with Satterley and the consultant team has resulted in a truly integrated landscape and built form brownfield development.
