PLAN E was engaged to assist with the new library complex on ECU’s Joondalup Campus. The landscape was designed to integrate with the existing themes and material palettes of the site.
The Level 1 courtyard was designed to create a strong landscape setting that complemented the new library building, with a series of raised timber seating platforms, table facilities and other informal meeting spaces designed on different levels in response to the sunken nature of the space.
The array of levels create different outdoor rooms that have been designed to offer a variable protected external area that is seen as an extension of the internal library space.
We acknowledge and respect Traditional Owners across Australia as the original custodians of our land and waters, their unique ability to care for country and deep spiritual connection to it. We honour Elders past, present and emerging whose knowledge and wisdom has and will ensure the continuation of cultures and traditional practices.
