04 Jun Bushland Nature Trail, Kings Park
With the recent lockdown, there has been an increased focus on using our parks for recreation and activity. Kings Park is a great destination for outdoor exercise, and at the same time exploring the myriad delights this iconic world-renowned park has to offer.
The 950m Bushland Nature Trail is one of the hidden gems worth discovering. This delightful interpretive trail designed by PLAN E comprises over 600m of metal boardwalk linked by pathways to form an educational walking circuit, meandering sensitively through diverse habitats and vegetation types.
Careful site analysis and close Client consultation determined the boardwalk alignment and form, ensuring minimal disturbance to endemic bushland during construction while maximising visitor interaction with this landscape of local and regional importance. The steel and mesh decking is robust and durable, while allowing light and water to penetrate the boardwalk, promoting bushland survival and growth.
